Sadly, it has limited HDR performance because it can't display a wide color gamut, has a few banding issues, and doesn't get bright enough to make highlights pop. It has a VA panel with a high native contrast ratio that displays deep blacks, but like any budget-friendly TV, it lacks a local dimming feature to improve the picture quality in dark scenes.

It's great for watching content from cable boxes or DVDs as the image won't look too grainy or blurry, and it displays 1080p and 4k signals very well. It's an okay choice for watching a variety of content as it doesn't have any trouble upscaling lower-resolution content. As expected for a low-cost TV, it's limited in features, but the Roku TV platform is still great to use, and it has the same great selection of apps. It's available in a wide range of sizes, from 43 to 85 inches, and they all should perform like the 55 inch model we tested. If you want something at a low cost, then the TCL 4 Series/S435 2020 is the best cheap Roku TV we've tested. Overall, it's the best gaming Roku TV that we've tested.
SUPER265 ROKU SERIES
Still, you can play lower-resolution games at 120Hz from the PS5 and Xbox Series X, and it has low input lag. Unfortunately, it's not the best choice for gaming on the latest consoles because it doesn't have HDMI 2.1 bandwidth for high-frame-rate games instead, it has HDMI 2.0 bandwidth, so you can only play 4k games up to 60 fps.
Lastly, it has variable refresh rate (VRR) support in the form of native FreeSync and G-SYNC compatibility to reduce screen tearing. It also has a backlight strobing feature to reduce screen tearing, but the crosstalk is off, resulting in image duplication when it's enabled. The backlight uses pulse width modulation to dim itself, but since it flickers at such a high frequency, it won't be distracting and doesn't cause image duplication. It has a 120Hz panel for a smooth and responsive gaming experience, and it also has impressive motion handling. It's great for gaming as it has a few extra features, and the picture quality is good in both dark and bright environments. It's a 2020 model that's still available because TCL hasn't released a new Roku lineup since, and it offers good overall performance. It also displays a wide color gamut for HDR content, but the HDR peak brightness is just okay.
SUPER265 ROKU 480P
It can't display 480p content properly, so it's not ideal for watching DVDs, and it has disappointing out-of-the-box accuracy, so you might need to get it calibrated. Unfortunately, there are a few issues with this TV. It's not very well-suited for co-op gaming, though, as the image degrades at an angle. However, it has quite a bit of noticeable blur behind fast-moving objects, and it's limited to a 60Hz refresh rate, which is disappointing if you have the new gaming consoles. It also has low input lag for a responsive gaming experience. It's great for gaming, with low input lag and support for FreeSync variable refresh rate technology to reduce screen tearing.
It's bright enough to overcome glare in most rooms with a few lights around, and it has good reflection handling.

Part of Hisense's 2021 ULED lineup, it's one of the only ones from them that runs the Roku smart interface instead of Android TV. The Hisense U6GR is the best Roku TV we've tested.
